Lazy Eye/Amblyopia
This happens when the brain and the eyes of humans do not work together. The visual information that one of the eyes sends is ignored by the brain which leads to the problems in vision developments.
Diabetic Retinopathy
The damage of the blood vessels in the back of the eyes that is in the retina is called as the diabetic retinopathy and everyone suffering from type 1 and type 2 are at risk of getting this disease. People suffering from DR may not notice until their condition becomes severe. Hence, it is very important to get the eyes treated when one is suffering from diabetes.
Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD)
This one blurs the sharp, central vision needed to see straight ahead. In the centre of the retina, there is a part of the eye called the macula and that is hampered in this problem. It is macula of the eyes that lets a person see the fine details that are needed for writing, reading, and driving.
Glaucoma
There are different types of glaucoma but all of them irrespective of their type can cause damage to the optic nerves. This disease is also called as the sneak thief of the sight. It is called so because in this too people do not notice a problem in their eyesight until some vision is lost. Mostly it happens because of the increase in the fluid pressure in the eyes. If it is found at later stages then vision loss from glaucoma can’t be treated.
Cataract
The clouding the lens of the eyes is called a cataract. This will lead to poor vision during the night and also while driving because of the glare or brightness of the lights. Cataract surgery is the most common eye surgery that can be easily cured.
