INTRODUCTION
With a 14.5-inch, 3000 x 1876-pixel OLED display, 120 Hz refresh rate, MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage, the Lenovo Tablet Extreme is a high-end Android tablet.
The tablet, which was first unveiled at CES in January, is anticipated to cost $1200 when it launches in the US later this year. But it appears that it will debut in China first, where it will be less expensive. Simply put, it goes by a different name there; the Lenovo Legion Y900 is the name of the device in China.
It is obvious from the name change that Lenovo is positioning the tablet in China as a member of their gaming portfolio. Other items bearing the Legion trademark include smartphones and gaming PCs. While cutting edge hardware isn't necessary to play the majority of Android games, it can be useful if you intend to use a tablet for resource-intensive applications like emulation.
Chinese consumers can get one shortly for 5,999 CNY (about $870), while it appears that they may be able to place a pre-order for as cheap as 4,999 CNY ($725).
The Tab Extreme/Legion Y900 also has a respectable 12,300 mAh battery, support for 68W fast charging, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port that supports video out in addition to charging and data transfer, and a USB 2.0 Type-C port that can function as a display input, allowing you to use the tablet as an external display for other devices.
WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility are included in the wireless capabilities, and some versions will also support 4G and 5G cellular networks.
There are also 8 speakers (4 woofers and 4 tweeters), 4 microphones, a fingerprint sensor, support for face unlock, a microSD card reader for external storage, a pogo pin connector for a detachable keyboard, a digital pen support, 13MP + 5MP rear cameras, as well as a 13MP front-facing camera.
Lenovo intends to provide security updates for at least four years as well as significant operating system changes for three. It comes pre-installed with Android 13 OS.
